Chemistry
for Health
This initiative will focus on health-related aspects of chemistry,
particularly, though not exclusively, those affecting Scotland and
the UK. Research into drugs to combat tuberculosis, MRSA and E.
coli will be a primary concern as well as investigations into anti-cancer
compounds. Allied to this is the development of new drug delivery
systems utilising nanoporous materials.
The Chemistry for Health initiative will also seek to foster links
with other institutions around Scotland, building upon this traditionally
strong area of scientific research.
