EaStCHEM Colleagues Honoured in 2026 RSC Prizes
June 2026. Several EaStCHEM colleagues have been honoured in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s (RSC) 2026 Prize Awards. These prestigious awards recognise outstanding achievements and significant contributions that advance the chemical sciences and their impact on society.
Professor Eli Zysman-Colman has been awarded the 2026 Tilden Prize in recognition of his pioneering research on the development of mechanophotocatalysts, and the use of organic thermally activated delayed fluorescence compounds, to drive sustainable photocatalysis.
Professor Mathew Horrocks has been awarded the Chemistry Biology Interface mid-career prize: Jeremy Knowles Award in recognition of his work on the generation of single-molecule fluorescence microscopy approaches for visualising protein aggregates in neurodegenerative disease and protein-membrane disruption, and their application in drug discovery.
Dr Danica Pinto has been recognised through the 2026 RSC Inspirational Committee Award for her role on the RSC Education Community Region Scotland. The prize recognizes their demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and delivering collaborative impact across the Scottish education community.
Professor Stuart Macgregor, PhD student Daniel Storm and PDRA Dr Arif Sajjad were recognised by the 2026 RSC Dalton Horizon Prize for their roles on Team SMOM and the development of solid-state molecular organometallic chemistry as a new way of controlling, analysing, and using highly reactive transition metal complexes.
