About EaStCHEM
The Universities of St Andrews and Edinburgh formed EaStCHEM in 2005 to combine the research activities of two of Scotland’s leading schools of chemistry.
EaStCHEM is now recognised for excellence in both core and interdisciplinary chemistry and our wide-ranging research reflects the relevance of modern chemistry in addressing global challenges and improving lives.
Combined, we are the largest chemistry research unit in the UK. The strength and collaborative ethos of EaStCHEM is particularly evident in the complementary instrumentation provided across both schools of chemistry resulting in the provision of exceptional state of the art facilities and instrumentation.
Our Vision
EaStCHEM’s vision is to provide a collegial, diverse, and stimulating environment in which to undertake world-leading chemistry research that advances knowledge and solves global problems.
